Hi! I got these chickens a week ago and I’m not quite sure what breed they are. My aunt rescued them from the side of the road and I decided I wanted to take them in. I’m a first time chicken owner and I’m not that knowledgeable about the different breeds. All I know is that the mom was black and white, she looked like a plymouth rock or wyandotte to me. No idea what the dad looked like but one of the chickens has some light brown on it. Also, one of them has a poof on its head, I thought only silkies could have that but maybe I’m wrong, once again i’m new at this lol. If you could also give me an estimate on the age that would be great. I was thinking 6 weeks but after comparing to other chickens I realized I might be wrong.

Looking like three girls and a boy! The cockerel has light brown on his shoulders and back- hope you wanted a little roo!

They're barnyard mixes for sure- looks like there's some crested Easter Egger, or Cream Legbar in the gene pool!

We’ve been debating whether or not that’s a roo. It fits in with the other chickens well and makes a little burrow in the ground to sleep like the rest of them. There’s also no sign of spurs (i’m not sure when those grow in though). Unfortunately, if it is a roo we have to find it another home because we’re right outside of a neighborhood. I’m excited about the breeds you said though! I wanted some easter eggers.

Those are lovely chickens and I'm sure you very much want to keep them, but you really should advertise to try to find the person who lost them -- just as if you'd found a lost dog or cat. :)
My aunt had them for a while before we got them. When she found them they were babies and couldn’t even really walk yet. She posted about them and asked around and no one claimed them, they were also in pretty poor condition.

As long as the neighborhood YOU live in allows roos, you don't have to worry about your neighbors being angry and calling the cops, you'll be on solid legal ground. There may be some noise laws you might have to worry about, but it's just like a dog barking or partying, those things may be even worse. As long as you keep them contained and your roo isn't aggressive and doesn't spurr anyone you don't have to worry about being near a neighborhood. If you're worried about that, owning chickens in or near this neighborhood may be illegal to begin with and hens can be noisy too, so you may want to check that out. Also, if your neighbors are annoyed, you can always bribe them with fresh eggs. My mother has chickens in a city, (not a big one with sky-scrapers or anything, but where she lives can't exactly be described as a subburb, maybe a commercial district with the occasional house and neighbors?) And it's not been an issue as long as she kept and keeps them contained, (there were some when she let them free-range)

BTW, yes you look like u have a rooster, and they look to me to be some sort of mix with White Plymouth Rocks maybe?? One certainly has Silkie in them or a similair breed. They could have the same mother, and different fathers too, based on how the chicken reproduction system works, which makes things even more confusing, but with them being pretty much the same coloring, it looks like they had the same or similair father(s).

Awesome. I was planning on getting chickens before my aunt found these and couldn’t decide what breed I wanted. Now I have a nice mix lol. Also really excited about the one hen possibly being a silkie. I love those.
