I purchased 36 chicks from tractor supply. The chicks are 8 1/2 weeks old. I purchased 5 blue lace wyandotte and none of my pullets look like what I have seen. I also purchased buff orpington, these I recognize, golden comets, which I dont recognize anymore since they have grown, and starlight Green Eggers.
Can anyone tell me what my chickens are? I know the buffs.

thank you for responding. the dark brown ones were suppose to be blue lace wyandotte. Three are suppose to be golden comets. Last time I buy from tractor supply.

All of those you are questioning about are mixes or 'Starlight Green Eggers.'

Tractor Supply has never had decent birds. When we purchased ten sexed California Gray pullets from them, only five of them turned out to be California Grays and the rest were mixes, one being a cockerel who turned out to be an extremely human-aggressive rooster. We purchased three Buff Orpingtons from them, and one turned out to be a Delaware. When I went to Tractor Supply once, there were Cornish Cross broilers in the Bantam bin. None of their birds are accurate to the standard, and often have undesirable traits. The people working at Tractor Supply even think 'straight run' is a breed.
