I'm not on either side of the rooster v hen debate but I will say Audrey's feathers seem to be in fairly poor condition, the lack of tail isn't normal for Wyandotte, Wyandotte mixes or any breed except Araucana I suppose (rumpless) and I think thats due to bad nutrition, possibly damage? From their last home I mean : D No matter what the gender/sex may be the tail should regrow/grow in within the coming months <3 Keep us updated!!
What about the fact that she doesn’t have spurs like 99.9%cockles doNo, cockerels tend to feather slower in breeds that have had nutritional or picking issues. The tail and the very pointed, metallic gold above the tail is spot on for a cockerel.
Almost all of my cockerels don’t start getting spurs until at least 5 months. I’ve had them not even come in until 8 months to a year. Spurs don’t tell gender.
It's been a while since I've had large fowl roosters, when do they get spurs? :O it took our last 3 bantam cochin boys well over a year to get noticeable spurs, haven't had a large fowl boy in easily 5 years xD
Spurs don’t come that early. Females can get spurs too.
Yeah, its a pullet, we had a barnevelder at 10 weeks old and she had a bigger comb than that and it turned out it was a hen! (i have 3 hens with spurs!)
Ops bird has male specific feathering, pointy saddle feathers.
