Need help identifying

Recently, one of my chickens has developed a scab and purple area around it on her wattle. It’s only on one side and I just noticed this a few days ago, as it wasn’t there about a week ago. I am thankful for any help with this issue.

The most probable explanation is a pecking injury. When two hens have a disagreement, they often aim for the comb or wattle to drive home their "point". The wattles are very delicate tissue sort of like our lips. If they get pinched or nicked with a sharp beak, bruising and minor laceration can occur. These are not serious wounds and heal quickly.
