Snitches get stitches ha ha. So sorry to hear my fellow Floridians are having such trouble. I do have to ask have you triad to kill him with kindness? Works every time, maybe a few fresh eggs, I will keep fingers crossed for you. Have you seen the Florida thread? There may be others in your area, strength in numbers.
 
That's what I am hoping for! Strength in numbers!!! I have read about all the successes with getting the ordinances changed all over the country. We can do this! I know of several people who are "undercover" chicken people in ths area. We NEED to call our District Commissioners and get this thing changed!
It's not fair that other people are allowed to have poisonous snakes and monkeys in their homes....but we are the ones that get busted for having CHICKENS!!!
What is the world coming to?
 
Thanks alot Cape Coral! Thanks for the advice and yes! I am going for the "pet" approach!! I have already typed up a petition letter and will be hitting the streets on Monday to get supportative signatures. I am constructing my first email to Frank Mann (Dist 5) and have loads of supporting documentation to back the right to have chickens in our own yards. I am hoping to combine efforts with my other Lehigh chicken rogues. Maybe we can be of some help to you in the Cape as well??!! At least Dist 1 and Dist 5 will be hearing from their citizens! Get as many people as you can (family, friends, chicken fans in Dist.1) to bombard the commissioner's office.

One lonely voice will only sound like "one crazy chicken person" but many "crazy chicken people" will get their attention!!!
 
You may be able to get more supporters in your area with a posting on Craigslist and your local paper. Have you thought about contacting a local news station, there have been a lot of these stories in the media lately.

I emailed News-Press today.. hope to hear from them soon. I sent Frank Mann pictures of our coop and "girls" along with letter that included FAQ's regarding chickens. If anyone wants a copy of what I have.. send me your email address and I'll forward what I have to you.
