True Ancona will not have a green cap like the Drake has.

Your drake is a tri-colored Ancona most likely, or has had Ancona ancestry somewhere along his lines. Your hen is probably mixed.

I understand and yes he is Ancona colours but not a breed specific breed of Duck..Ancona will not have a green head.

I only have a few Muscovy crosses and they don't look like those. I am not saying they aren't, just saying mine don't look like that. I also don't have Silver Appleyards or Saxony, so can't say it they look like them or not either.

If they are crosses you might start to see some variance development soon.

Who here has bred more than a few crosses? Is it @oldhenlikesdogs or @learycow maybe?

Okay @MagpieDucks you think my Drake is Ancona but what about my Hens?

I breed Call Ducks and not colour specific ones. I don't breed for type ever but for colour..I have true Ancona colour finally and Magpie. Too me years of breeding and selling off certain birds to get the colours I'm able to provide my customers..
