Need help picking a vine.

The beans grow HUGE. SO you have to pick them before the seeds start getting too large. They are tough if you let them get too big.

Are the beans and the Scarlet Runner the same plant? (Sorry, I'm easy to confuse!) haha

Yes they are the same plant. The flowers will turn into beans after they are pollinated. The vines really attract bees/wasps/hornets, so I wouldn't use these if you were afraid of them like I am

I keep them away from my front door and places I frequent.

The beans once mature look so cool! The plants grow so fast. I think it takes them a few days to sprout. I started them inside so they were blooming before June.

I second the passion fruit vine if it will grow there, I don't think they handle the cold well. We are in SoCal and use them on our picket fence, nice greenery and fruit for jelly.

The scarlet runners are great! They are flowering beans so that probably the plant mentioned before. They are prolific! We use in the garden to attract pollinators. I plan on starting them up pvc arches over our garden gates this year to encourage the hens to not try and jump the gates. I am totally unimpressed with the beans, but that is cause they grow to giant way too fast. BUT I hear the beans are good dried and they are very pretty.

I have a few seeds left here for next season
