I was with my 12 & 13 week old flock in their coop/run. I heard a commotion that sounded like the cockerel trying to mount the Pullet and her resistance/fussing and then noticed my 13 week old EE Pullet had a feather from my 13 week old silkie cockerel in her mouth. The silkie cockerel was trying to figure out how to escape and Amelia Bedillia, my EE Pullet, started what sounds like coughing/trying to clear something from her throat. This was an hour ago. It's still going on and worse at times. I've got a video that shows kind of what she's doing but my connection is awful and it's taking forever to upload to YouTube. While we're waiting on the video so I can share the link, does anyone have any ideas? Right now, she's separated from the flock (please overlook all of the dog hair on the floor, as it's been a busy weekend and day) and I'm not sure if I should keep her separated or not. She's gobbling up meal worms but doesn't want her mash (wet all flock) or water. She took a taste of nutri drench but that's it.

Dog hair. Hmmm. Have you looked inside her mouth to see if a hair might be wrapped around her tongue. I know that sounds preposterous, but it happens.

Also, examine her mouth and throat for plaque lesions. She could have canker and it's obstructing her airway.

My first thought was that she inhaled something, possibly a feather from the offending silkie. I brought her into my dog grooming shop after this started, but yes I have opened her beak to inspect and I thought I could see a teeny tiny string of dark grey feather at the bottom of the opening at the base of her tounge. I went to get a cotton swab and haven't been able to find it since.

I have not done that and to be completely honest, I don't know how to. I'll look it up and see if I can do it. She did eat some mash and is going crazy for Raisins (actually jumping up to get them).

Editing to clarify that I have felt her crop and it does have some contents, but I didn't know how to check for an obstruction or sour crop.
