We noticed on Thursday my hen violet starting acting lethargic and not eating. She was sitting a lot and not running around. On Friday I picked her up and she is extremely thin. She was drinking on her own but she must not have been eating because her crop was empty and she was Like a bag of bones. She started stumbling and walking strange hanging her head on the ground like she didn’t have the strength to hold it up. She also has diarrhea. I’m so scared she’s going to die and I have no vet around that I can take her to until Monday . I have been keeping her inside and feeding her scrambled eggs and making her drink water

I’ve also checked to make sure she’s not eggbound and I definitely can’t feel an egg. He comb looks a little strange, it has some spots on it and is kind of dry looking. Just looking for any suggestions on helping her.

That black scab looks to be Dry Pox, which isn't as nast as Wet Pox. Have you checked in her mouth? How old is she? When was the last time she laid?

If you got some Nutri Drench, see if you can get her to take some. She eating the scrambled eggs? Is the diarrhea greenish, if so it's cause she hasn't eaten. Keep up with the scrambled egg or you can even moisten her feed, making a mash ... See if she'll eat that.

She is 9 months old and yes I checked her mouth and didn’t see anything noticeable. Her diarrhea is definitely greenish and I think it’s been about a week since she laid an egg. I’m going to try the mash, she ate the scrambled eggs this morning but wouldn’t eat any this afternoon. What should I look for in her mouth and is dry pox bad? I attached a pic of her last poop and lord did it stink.

This explains the dry/wet pox .... https://thepoultrysite.com/articles/fowl-pox-in-layers-an-overview IF you have some Nutri Drench, try see if you can get her to take some. Do you have other chickens? Are they from hatcheries or private purchase? Where they vaccinated? What other symptoms, just not eating? Is she still drinking?

The lethargic is probably due to not eating ... What came first, not eating or not laying? Sorry I'm not much help here but lets see if others can help out :fl

Any advice :fl Thank you in advance :bow

I have been giving her nutri drench and pedialyte all day today. I have 4 other chickens and I bought them from Rural King. I do not think they were vaccinated. I think she stopped laying first. I know she was eating on Monday because I fed her raisins and by Friday she was sod Kinney I could feel her breast bone. She’s not doing anything on her own right now, I’m giving her water from a dropper.now she seems to be taking deep breaths with her mouth open. I just found a 24 hr vet to see her at 7 pm tonight. I hope she makes it that long.

As me thank you for all your advice, it’s very much appreciated

I suspect a blockage from a possible soft egg from all the clues provided. The poop has a substantial wet stain, and I am betting she hasn't produced a cecal poop in all this time, either. The fluid loss may be due to the cecum being blocked.

When I propose a treatment, I'm only guessing what could be wrong, but I won't suggest anything that could cause more harm. Two things I would do immediately. First give her a calcium supplement. Calcium citrate is my preferred type, but even a Tums would do. The other is a concerted program of getting fluids into her. Her weight loss may be due to not eating, but dehydration is probably responsible for most of it.

Continue the Pedialyte, but give it to her directly into her crop every hour, at least two ounces each time. Do it like this.

Neither of these treatments will interfere with the upcoming vet visit. They can both get her moving in the right direction for the vet to take it from there.
