I have some chicks that are between 8-10 weeks old. They've been on the ground for about 2 weeks. This morning I went out and they were huddled in a corner with their heads pulled back and they kinda had their chest feathers puffed out. Today was the first cold morning. It was 33 at 8. Are they sick with cocci or a respiratory infection or just cold. I put corid in their water just in case.

Sounds like they are just cold. Watch their little beaks for runny noses, though. Sometimes the stress will make them sick.

If it is coccidiosis you should see improvement in 24 hours, in my experience. You don't have to have bloody stools for it to be cocci.

Once they are fully feathered they should not be shivering or standing puffed up, huddling and looking sick. If they have been out of the brooder for a couple of weeks, sounds like perfect timing for cocci. Perfect age too.

Coccidiosis doesn't have a respiratory component.
