Here it is again with more feathering coming in...I keep asking because I'm moving back to california and if she is a he then I need to rehome him before then thank you all so much....

I thought they were streamers for a bit too but if you look its where the new feathers are sprouting out...her whole head looked like that now the ones where the feathers have come all the way in are no longer streamer looking

Ethel Is almost 24 weeks old now....how old are they when they start to lay she keeps sitting in the corners of the coop and nest box and usually she is a roosting bird so I noticed that was kind of odd....

At that age, especially for a hatchery bird, male characteristics should be clear by now. Ethel is a girl.

And I think her sitting in the nest box is in preparation for laying. I'll bet you will get an egg within a week.
