Need help waterproofing barrel coop

Yes I thought the wood got wet and swelled up, making the seams tighter.....something like that. so I'm guessing that an old wine barrel is a poor choice for a chicken tractor. Too bad!!!
That polyurathane stuff STINKS to high heaven, for months after you use it (at least it does on your hardwood floors) --- I'd definitely keep it on the OUTSIDE of a coop that small!!!!

My coop roof leaks too, but not over the roost, and being open air it's not a huge deal coz it dries out fast. I just need to get up the $40 for that roof sealing "paint" to put over the tin.....in the meantime we just have a few drips

Yeah, oil based products are pretty stinky. I was thinking of water based and food grade products when I said this, forgetting that most of the stuff out there is vile.

Use water based products when you can. Any where, any time.
