We have a bourbon red turkey that broke his leg when he was a baby, 6 months ago. He has gotten around fine up until now. Does anyone have any ideas on ways to make a prostetic to help him? He is very friendly and easy to handle, so we would like to try and help him, he is not suffering and we have no intention of letting him get to that point. Thank you for any suggestions.

I don't think there is enough info to help. What happened that your turkey can't walk now? Also please answer the questions, in the sticky, at the top of the emergency forum. Is a vet an option? You can splint a bird leg, but do you know if it is a simple or compound fracture? Good luck

Thank you!!

I will take some pics tomorrow. He broke it when he was about a month old, up high, our pot belly pig moved a board and it fell on him. So you really can not see anything, he hops around on one leg, but the bigger he gets he loses his balance and falls over. He has lost muscle tone in one side. He definately has the will to live so I want to try and see what we can do.

Thanks
