My female pekin has laid her first nest of 11 eggs but she is not laying on them. I do have a male pekin and spotted them mating a couple of times :)
1. I have read pekins are not the best brooders, should I wait and she what she does or take them in and artifically incubate?
2. How many eggs do pekins usually lay before sitting? she had 9 last saturday, today (friday) she has 11. so 2 eggs in 6 days.
3. Once she starts sitting, how long should she sit?
4. Not sure how long the nest has been there since I just discovered 6 days ago with 9 eggs, could any of them be bad?
5. It is still getting cool at night around 40 degrees, will this hurt them?
Thanks for all of your help and any addtional advice!

If she was going to go broody she would have been by now 11 eggs are more then enough. Pekins rarely go broody if your looking for a broody go for muscovys they are wonderful mothers otherwise if you want ducklings put them in the incubator!!
