Need Help with a Silly Goose

Quite wobbly still and oh so hungry! Try the soup and she might just eat without further help.

Fingers crossed! I'm trying it now.

Well...she will eat out of the cup but again only if I'm holding it in her face.

It took some real convincing too. lol

Be patient, she is just a baby and does not have anyone to emulate , right?

Just me, all day long. She might be just a tad spoiled...when she was initially touch and go I held her in a heating pad so she wasn't alone. Lol

She's only about 3.5 days old but she has improved significantly in that time frame so I feel like she's going to be ok if I can just get her eating on her own, lol.

Not spoiled, just her natural needs as a baby goose. A mama goose would have her cuddled nicely within her down feathers as well.

Goslings follow their mom & dad around and eat what they see them eating so this is normal behavior.

week one- feed from hand
week 2- place hand on food but still have food in hand\
week 3- have food on ur hand but also a little bit of food spilling out
week 4- spill more

keep spilling more food then just leave ur hand there. slowly stop visiting her with ur hand. maybe that's help

Goslings follow their mom & dad around and eat what they see them eating so this is normal behavior.

So I suppose this is primarily because she's the only gosling then. I told my friend what to expect, she has some chicks and she will put one with her. They're almost 5 weeks old so she doesn't want to put them all in there and then we could always get a chick at the feed store even though I have 22 eggs in the incubator and 50 more on the way, lol...none hatching for a few weeks though. Oops!
