Need help with my disabled / amputated pigeon

He looks a lot more confident.
I too would consider a lightweight walker.

I would be very disappointed with that vet despite the 'reputation'. They should want to support you and you pigeon, forget about the (enormous amount of) cash.

I wonder if lowering the sling just a little bit would give him an opportunity to exercise his good leg muscles more?
i adjust the whole thing all the time.

the high i just pull the rope up and down because it’s one of those knots.

then the angle as well because i can make him be more upright or more to the front if i put some treats for him on the floor to chase for.

that’s not an issue really.

my dear, the vet is long gone and forgotten really. to keep thinking of that piece of shit wouldn’t help me nor my dove and i’m sure karma will get him sooner or later.

the problem is my dove doesn’t know how to walk. for sure i’ll make that but i think first he must understand the mechanics of it or he’ll just stay there without moving at all.

Consider making him a walker. Here is a video, and a picture with some ideas. That will help him get strength and get around. Is the infection gone/healed? Is the stump heathy? I hope the walker idea helps.

this one looks great and doable, thank you!

i could make this no problem BUT he CANNOT walk yet. how do i teach him to walk?

tomorrow i’ll take a pic of his stump and post it and you tell me your opinion. yes the infection is gone i think. he eats and enjoys life as far as he can i think. if there were infection there he wouldn’t behave like that i think.
