Hi, everyone! This forum is great! I'm new to chickens and am having a ball. I've had a genius idea

that I can make another coop and run out of an old swingset frame. I've built a small "Coopette" and a chicken tractor (known as the Coop de Ville). I will post pictures of these on my blog: www.redsrealworld.blogspot.com soon. But I've learned that once you get chickens, everything you see becomes a strange idea for a coop. So, I Freecycled the frame, got it and now I have questions.
Anyone out there ever used a swing frame? I'm open to any and all ideas!

Thanks,
Cindy a.k.a. The Queen of Cluck!

That really made me laugh! You got that right!

I used our old patio table with hardware cloth around it as a daytime "chickie gazebo" when they were only 10 days old and the weather was nice. Just this last week, I put a large rubber feed pan from our sheep days underneath the same old patio table, as a covered dust bath. That table is really getting around this year!

Good luck with the swingset!

Boy, HollyClyff really did an awesome job on that coop! I have a very clear idea that mine is not going to be that fancy! Like someone said, the chickens won't know.

My problem is that this frame is metal. Anyone worked around a metal frame?

Thanks,
Cindy
