Hi there, I have 8 hens that are 2.5yrs old. I have them separated into 2 flocks due to bullying. So 3 in one coop and 5 in the other. The five chickens seem to have serious problems and I am not sure what it is. I am wracking my brain and stumped. I have lost 2 birds in the period of 5 months from this flock. Lately I have noticed feathers missing from their face, their feathers around their beaks and nostrils have a dried dark yellow crust and the downy feather that run beside their beak are caked with something and look gross. They aren't sneezing, coughing or having difficulty breathing. They aren't stretching their necks or open beak breathing. They have angry red bumps on their skin on the bald areas on their faces that look painful. One bird in this flock has diarrhea that is watery yellow and oily. She has lost weight and stands around a lot and doesn't go to roost at night. She sleeps in the egg box. She is eating and drinking.
So far I have treated with Wazine and Corid, dusted with DE (coop and birds) with no positive results. Also egg production is nil.
Anything you can offer would be appreciated. I don't have access to a vet that sees chickens. Thank you!

Could you post any pictures from your affected chickens, such as the faces, beaks, droppings, etc. Have you seen any bubbles or gunk in an eye? If you should lose another chicken, keep the body cold and send or take it in to your state poultry lab for a necropsy. That is sometimes the cheapest and best way to get them tested for diseases. This is a list of state vets:

So, no there isn’t any discharge or bubbles around the eyes. I will get picks this evening when they come in to roost. Here is what I have of poop:

So here is a pic of one of the hens with the sores and missing feathers. This is the one who has lost the most weight and has the diarrhea pic I posted. She is eating and drinking. Her face doesn’t seem to be near as bad as the other girls’ faces with feather loss and sores but I couldn’t catch them tonight.
Anything you can offer will be extremely appreciated. Thank you!

I don’t see anything that looks that abnormal or like fowl pox in the picture. Could the yellow you are seeing on the faces and the spot on top of her comb be egg yolk?

I will send a better pic of the other hens tomorrow. The sores aren’t showing up in this pic. Thank you for responding and if you have time tomorrow please check back. I am so sad that there is something going on with them. The weight loss and diarrhea is awful.

Okay, so upon close inspection the coop and run are covered with small scurrying black bugs and then some larger light grey bugs with 2 antenna like things coming off their heads.
I treated the birds with a poultry spray then DE. I so rested the coop and run with vegetable oil, dish soap, water mixture.
Do you think these are mites. I went out last night while they were roosting to inspect for mites that come out at night and didn’t see anything. I also didn’t see anything obvious in the hens.
Do you think this could be accounting for the weight loss, diarrhea, feather loss and angry bumps on the hens’ faces?
