I have a Chick about 3-4 weeks noticed her the other day she was staying to herself not eating got ahold of her yesterday her crop was so full i thought it would pop no food just liquids check the rest of her out she is nothing but skin and bones her feathers are coming out to easily some tell me ascites another says sour crop please help so i can either eas her pain or help her

Is her crop full and squishy like a balloon? Or is it full and hard? Check it early in the morning before she has eaten or drunk, when it should be empty. Of course since she is so young, she may eat round the clock. A puffy soft crop could be a sign of illness when the crop may slow down. A common illness in a young chick would be coccidiosis, and it is common for a crop to slow. The main thing is to tell if her crop is impacted, or if she might be suffering from cocci. Cocci is treated with Corid in the water for 7 days. Signs of cocci are lethargy, weakness, runny poops, and a poor appetite. A sour crop is rare in a young chick, an impacted crop is not.
