Need ideas for guidelines to change by-laws in our neighborhood!

Hello,

I am new to BYC but have been reading trying to learn about chickens....mainly hens. I want to raise them. First problem is our neighborhood doesn't allow them. The by-laws were written in 1967 and there have been little to no changes to say the least! I plan on going to the next board meeting (March 7) to see if the board will be willing to send out information to the homeowners so they can vote and the HOA can update our by-laws and if you want, keep hens. For those who live in a neighborhood what are your rules/guidelines for keeping hens? Any pointers, suggestions, info you are willing to pass on would be greatly appreciate.
