Need Immediate Advice

Sorry....I have moved them from the barn to the house so I can keep a closer eye on them tonight. It took me a bit to get all together for the move. I know it was probably stressfull to move them, but feared more harm if not. They seem fine except that they are on their bellies. If I set them up they just fall over. I don't think they are paralyzed. Just no control. They will all drink water. No one wants to eat at this time, but I would think water is most important for tonight. I do not have any vitamins for them. I think I read somewhere this evening that I should get some polyvisol to aid with sick duck.

I have one that wants to drink alot, but when he does he has water come out of his nose. He shakes it off and keeps drinking. Other than that they are just peeping like normal.

I wish I could be right there.

See if you can get them some vitamins, at least, and make sure they have plenty of fresh food and fresh water easily reachable in a safe container they won't drown in. If you can add activated charcoal to their water, that would be good, too. It is benign, to my knowledge (remember, it's not the briquettes they have poison in them, it's the capsules that are food grade).

I need to sign off now. But I've subscribed to the topic and will check messages for the next half hour or so.

Prayers are being offered for you all.

Any possibility they had any contact with rat poison (i.e. Decon)?

If you have a wood stove and burn clean hardwood only, a little chunk of that charcoal (not the ashes, no, rinse the charcoal well first) could be ground up fine and put in their water for detox. I know it's late. Just a thought.

Haven't seen any since I brought them in. Wait I take that back....one of them pooped on me. It was clearish water and a little dab of poo. Seemed normal, I think.

By the way, ducklings have been known to drink so much they literally slosh it out their mouths and noses. His thirst makes me think it's something toxic, but again, some viruses and bacterial infections can cause similar symptoms.

Too bad you can't setup something they can use, but you don't want them to drown, either. Oh, tough situation. Bless you for giving them so much help. If you can think of any other details, let us know.

I hope if someone on the forum has a stroke of insight, they can share it.

Gotta ring off for now. I will listen for emails for a little while.
