Good Morning All.....The night brought a great deal of improvement in three of them. But I am very sorry to say the one that had the water coming out of his nose when he drank did not make it.

It is actually a miraculous recovery for the other three. They are standing while they eat and drink this morning. I really don't know what could have been causing the problem. But very happy these guys are making a turn around.

Did I mention that while this has been going on, I have been sick as a dog for the last week? Bad night last night all the way around. At least these guys feel better!

On a happier note, I have a black sexlink hen that has been sitting on a clutch of black copper maran and rir mix eggs. My husband just called from the barn and said they are starting to hatch!

I will give you guys an update a little later.

Sorry you lost a little guy, and that this is on top of your own illness. Yuck.

Glad to read that the other two seem improved. How is the temperature in their brooder?

Congratulations on the hatching! Mercy, what an intense week for you!

X2!! I would still have the save a chick on hand, even when my broodys hatch I put it in all waterers for the first week.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and support. I hope you have a wonderful day today. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful one here at my house. Miss Lydia you live in Lenior, right?

Sorry about the wee one.
Sounds like they are all in good hands.
I hope YOU feel better now.
I think allergies are getting to me. I can't believe it, I have been pretending it was not that for days now. What a wild "winter".

Good luck with the new flock members all around.
Pictures are always encouraged.
:)

All three are still going strong and not showing any signs that there were ever any problems. Not sure what problem was. Maybe the niacin. I didn't have any powder niacin, but I had some time released capsules and I put that in their water. That could be the reason for the strong turnaround and evidence lack of was the problem. Since there were several changes including the move, it's hard to say. I cleaned and sterilized my brooder. Will move them back as soon as it has dried out.

Right now they are in the bottom of my laundry basket making a mess with their water and feed.

I did post a picture of them before they became ill.
