I HATE to see young people taking any perscription drugs. Hopefully the information below can help her body repair itself and or reduce the amount of drugs she takes.
As others have posted I am providing this for your information and I am NOT diagnosing or prescribing anything! Confirm any information with your Doctor!!
The thyroid hormone thyroxine is made from the amino acid tyrosine. The enzyme that converts one to the other is dependent on iodine, zinc, and selenium. a lack of either tyrosine or iodine, zinc, or selenium can reduce thyroxine levels. However, an underactive thyroid, which can cause symptoms like weight gain, mental and physical lethargy, constipation, and skin problems, is quite common. Many people suspected of haviing thyroid problems have borderline "normal" thyroxine levels but experiance amazing health transformations after taking a low dose of thyroxine. Some people develop underactive thyroids because their body is destroying their thyroxine. These people test positive for "antithyroid antibodies." This is often due to a glutin allergy. the immune system seems to become hypersensitive to a food and attacks thyroid tissue by mistake. I recommend testing for allergies as well as antithyroid antibodies.
If I were in your position I would change her diet to include the following :

4. 4 servings per day, WHOLE grains like rice, millet, rhy, oats, wheat, corn, quinoa, or WHOLE GRAIN breads or pasta.
5. 5 servings a day of dark green, leafy, and root veggies like watercress, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, spinach, green beans, peas, and peppers.
6. 6 glasses of water per day, and diluted juices or herbal or fruit teas.

PLUS!!!
600 IU vitamin E
two 1,000 mg vitamin C with bioflavnoids per day taken at breakfast and lunch.
you can't find vitamins with all that good stuff all in one pill. It's physically impossible so you'll have to take three or four separate ones to get what she needs.
DONT take the vitamins at night because they will keep her up and loose sleep.
Dont take just one vitamin without taking a good multi vitamin / multi mineral as many vitamins and minerals depend on each other to work properly.
Don't take the minerals with food, stomach acids deter absorbtion.
I hope she feels better SOON!
