Need just about any idea to try to make my baby chick comfortable

Good to hear your chick is easing. Again I think the oil is the key. I use just the olive oil, and she is (fingers crossed) fit free and sleeps well

she races about fending for treats and drinks plenty and eats plenty too.

Mine gets the fits back when I apply the vitamin E, I am not sure if it is because I touch areas she is sensitive to and this triggers her scratching, or if she just does not like the oily feel on the hair's on her head and shoulder area. However, after a couple of hours she settles down and relaxes..

It seems excessive to me for putting new feathers, since no other chicks are behaving that way.. I mean this chick is bleeding from scratching and rolls on her back panicking, seems to much for just feathers and it doesn't seem to be getting better, now with her sharp nails (which I dremmeled down today) she can do lots of damage.. I am afraid she will kill herself scratching...I wished I could know what was going on to stop this! I seem to have tried almost everything!

Have you tried a tiny amt. of childrens benedryl? I don't know what the actual dosage would be but it sounds like an allergy.
got this off the google custom search..

Thank you and according to info on the "About.com" benadryl is safe for animals.
