Kelly, Lexie has had a rough time with her molt, too. In fact, she just kept losing feathers will she was almost completely bare because she was still laying just about every day! This went on for months, literally. Finally, about three weeks ago, she quit laying, but still her feathers weren't really coming in. I began taking her aside to feed her separately from the others, pumping her full of chopped boiled eggs with yogurt and extra good stuff for her immune system. Also, I had to bring her inside at night when the temps went to single digits since she would have frozen to death. A wonderful guardian angel slipped me some AviaCharge for her as well a couple of days ago and now, her neck, head, and wing tops are almost covered with short new feathers. Her bottom is still pretty bare as are the tops of her legs, but even her bald head isn't as bald anymore. You know how much my Lexie means to me and I was getting extremely concerned for her lately. Glad your girl is on the upswing!

cyn, i hope lexie feels better soon. I'm so impressed with how quickly Sunny has improved. I brought her in the house on Wednesday, so it hasn't even been a week. I'm sure she would have died if she stayed outside.

Sunny has been back outside with the flock for 24 hours. She seems to be doing fine, no real change in the pecking order-she is near the top.
I'm going out of town for business & will be gone till saturday so DH is in charge. He promised me if she looks weak or cold he'll bring her back in, I left her house chicken setup as is for him in case she needs it. I've never gone away since I've had my chickens, its been almost two years. I think I might miss them more than I'll miss DH

Anyway, thanks again for all of the support & I'll give another update on Saturday when I get home!
