So we are moving into a new house next week and I need some ideas for a new waterer. The landlord is very welcoming of our 30 (

not to sure about that number. Dang chicken math!) chickens because he is really wanting fresh eggs and meat and is even building me a coop and getting me more chickens!!!. He really likes our lawn ornaments that are also know as fat, lazy ducks

But i really don't want to push my luck and have holes everywhere from my 6 piggies digging to China for water

I know there isn't a lot that I can do and that there will still be holes from the digging (he really insists that he is fine with this) and we will have to fill them in constantly but is there anything I can do to minimize the damage? We will be keeping them in the front yard during the day (that place was built like fort Knox so no worries there) and move them to the back after work for pool and sleep time.

The rain barrel Idea is great... I'm doing that, but I'm putting it on a mini water tower (five feet high) and letting the gravity feed do the work with an automatic waterer at the bottom (a brass valve connected to a red bowl that never overflows and keeps water inside constantly). This can be adapted and you can run multiple hoses to multiple waterers and place them at any height... You can get poultry specific waterers or larger types for other animals.

Great landlord by the way! There should be more landlords out there like him!

hope this helps...I'll post pictures when I am done with my 45 gallon water tower in a week or so.
