Some breeds of horses (like Gypsies) have feathers on their lower legs. Feathers is just the term for it, its actually long hair, and it looks really pretty.

I'm not sure if they x-rayed the mares feet. I know they put boots on but they don't think they're working because her hooves are so large that they don't fit properly. I'm going to the vet tonight with my mom and sister. They said Whiskey is acting very depressed.
