Need rabbit identification

I would be terrified to get a dog's ears cropped. It looks great but I would be raging if it was done wrong!

You definitely don't, ASL are pretty much their own breed.

They seem like a good breed from what I have heard, I definitely love the look.

I love how this started out as "what breed are my rabbit's?" and is now a dog discussion

. Did you get any answers on the other forum for possible rabbit breeds?

I still need to know!

Without a clear picture it's almost impossible. (BTW I am almost an ARBA liscensed judge...passed my exam just finishing working my last two shows).

Unfortunately the color of rabbits can rarely be helped to determine the breed. For example I'll use chinchilla since that's what color people are discussing. It shows up in dozens of breeds: Jersey Wooly, Netherland Dwarf, Mini Rex, Standard Chin, Am. Chin, Giant Chin, Flemish, Dutch, and on and on.

In my humble opinion as a breeder for over 10 years - once a rabbit is mixed, it's almost impossible to guess what it's original parents are due to the nature of recessive co-dominante traits.

I didn't get very clear pics, but did take some.

I know the color is nothing to go by, I bought them from a distance and took a shot. Also took a shot there's be a doe in there. Yeah right. LOL I liked the color.

These babies were soooo thin. I only realized how much after I've been pumping food into them and their tummies got so round, but the reast of them is still boney. Poor babies. They are also stained and either they usually have longer hair and it was plucked or cut, or they are just a crazy mixe. You can tell a lot of their fur is growning back.

OK I can't figure out how to upload. arrgrggggggg

Look's like the variety is Chinchilla, that's the most I can tell you right now

I posted these in Backyardherds also.

So it's been determined they are definately rabbits. LOL

Was hoping maybe someone here could help with breed.

BTW I went to the auction today to look for a cage. I did get a cage, but ended up bringing these guys home in it. I'm sooooo bad at not coming home empty handed.

Only have my phone to use for pics, so not the best, but best I took out of probably 10.

Oh duh! Just remembered how to add images.

At first I thought maybe mixed with Lionhead because of the smooth back fur, but I think they are just patches growing in.

I blew on the fur for this pic

The biggest one

Middle sized one

Smallest one

looking at the pictures they are lion head crossed with standard chin, as a guess. The mane on the one rabbit is a dead giveaway.

Only the rex varieties of chichilla rabbits have plush fur. Americans and standard chins do not.

OK that makes sense now. And as they are filling out their fur seems to feel better too.

I was thinking Lionhead and ????? But my little Lionheads are smaller than these bunnies. LOL

I think I have all bucks. Figures. I may keep one and rehome the others, but I need to get some weight on them. I've added apples and oatmeal to their diet, but is there something else I can give them? Their tummys are filling up, but they haven't filled out all over yet.
