Finally got to get the Sevin today and DD and I caught and dusted each of those chickens.
Just for anyone considering...
We used an old spice container with the shaking lid and that worked pretty good.
Our best method? Wait until almost dark when they are all going in the coops. We grabbed one and then put them on their back on the ground - made it easy to get under each wing good and then on the vent area without getting the dust too near their heads. I rubbed it in a bit under the wing and on to the next bird.
We also got the peafowl while we were at it - they were a bit harder to manhandle, but waited until they were roosting and it was ALMOST dark. Then at least I could grab them by the legs off the roost with a minimum of wings beating around my head.
Also cleaned out the nest boxes today and treated them and put in new shavings, and all around the corners of the coops too.
Wasn't as bad as i was expecting -although I probably have treated myself for mites at this point with the amount of sevin I got on my hand and forearms.
We did come in promptly for a shower afterwards...
