need reassurance

My girls are about 3 1/2 weeks old, they have been eating medicated starter and Miss Priss yogurt recipe and they seem to be thriving. I moved them out into their yard and the coop last night (with a lamp). Their run has several inches of river sand in it for bedding. My question is, now that they are eating the occasional bug (I gave them mealworms, yum yum) and grass will the sand in the run provide all the grit they need? From previous posts, that's my understanding, but I just want to double check. I know this topic has been covered to the extreme & I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, I just don't want to cause any health issues in my little dears.

I think sand is perfect grit for their age.
