Need some advice please

I have a 14.5 weeks barred rock. Self pecking with wound below right wing...healed...bout 1 week later having trouble walking...partial paralysis to left leg...given Corid Mixed in water x 5 days now, last few days seems other leg paralysis also...can put pressure on without signs pain....press on footbed and toes independently moving....losing weight...eating but less noticed..not lethargic...now 1 day of vitamins/electrolytes with lactobacilis as well as additional vitamin B12

Strange. Sorry she’s not feeling well. Well The corid my not have any affect. As far as I know those aren’t symptoms of coccidiosis. Vitamins sound like a good idea for now but not with corid. How are her droppings?

I completed the corid before I started the vitamins...her stools are formed and normal in color...the only issue seems to be her paralysis...it’s so sad I have to constantly move her around the crate she’s in cause she pulls herself with her wings but once gets to the wall she can’t back up or turn...she stooling on herself as she can’t get up and I have to clean her multiple times throughout the day

I don’t know a whole lot about mareks but may be something to look into. Lameness in legs can be a sign. @KikisGirls does I believe. Any swelling in the leg?

Poultry cell or any other complete vitamin. Check the label as all do not have B vitamins. Try a wet mash of feed, vitamins, and electrolytes. Any crop issue? What was corid started for originally? What symptoms? Pics of her and her poop might help someone spot something. Also consider taking a stool sample to a vet for a float test.

Sorry but it sounds like your chicken may be having symptoms of Mareks disease. That is not always the reason for leg problems, but here is a great article to read that gives details of Mareks and other diseases that may look similar:

Agree Marek’s is possible and supportive care iscall you can do. She might feel better in a sling to keep from soiling herself. I have to get ready for work, so can’t dig up a photo right now, but search for sling on BYC and you’lll find lots of examples. Good luck!

Corid was given just in case was coccidosis. Have researched mareks as well and all info points to additional symptoms occurring depending upon the type or strain. She has nothing else but the leg issues. Stool is formed and of normal color. Has not changed. Thank you eggcessive for the article. This is actually one I have read as well. According to the article she could have just one of the symptoms so who knows maybe it possibly is. Started the vitamins in hopes that it is not that.
