need some advice

i have a very skiddish, strange chicken (just 8-9 months) who had been laying small beautiful blue eggs. She stopped laying completely about 2 wks ago; why? Is she due to be soup?

Not if she's only 9 months old. There are breeds/lines that molt their first autumn if hatched early enough in the year.
She could be going into molt or it could be just the shortening days.
It could be other things as well but this time of year, those are the primary reasons.

She may not be laying now but it doesn't mean she can't lay for many more years.
I have a 6 year old ameraucana that quit 3 weeks ago. She's molting now as she does this time every year. She kicked back in last December and laid 5-6 eggs a week for the next 9 months.

Had a 9 month old molt last year.

She's likely going through a light molt. Are her tail feathers missing? Are you seeing her feathers lying around the coop/yard? Once she is done molting, she'll start laying again. I've had several 9 month old birds molt.
