Need Some Advice

After mourning the loss of my 2 Pekins to raccoons for the past month( and swearing I could never put my heart out there again!!), I think I am going to try again (with better locks on the night pen this time!!).

I am going to order some Blue Swedish females from Metzer's. I don't have a whole lost of space but I am worried about just getting 2 in case something happens to one of them. 3 would be perfect, 4 would make things a little more high maintenance but is probably possible. So my question is--would ducks rather live in even numbers or would having 3 be ok?

Also - does anyone know how long it takes to get the ducks from Metzer's? Are they delivered to the post office or to your house? I am worried about the heat this time of year.

Three ducks are fine. Some ducks are even okay being solo with chickens. Hatcheries usually take no longer than three days to ship to your house. I picked mine up at the post office and usually they put your number on the box and call with the chicks/ducklings are there. When you order add your number to the "comments" section to make sure they call to have you pick up the chicks and call the post office ahead of time.

I ordered 3 runner ducks for delivery the first week of August 3 years ago. They did find in transit and did fine as a trio.
