I got brave and candled my eggs tonight (day 8). Of a dozen eggs I had one blood ring, 8 that I think looked good and 3 nothings (just using a bright flashlight-these will need checking) . So we're at 8 looking good with 3 more that could do something ( or may not
All I have is a flashlight to candle with. in my white eggs there is veining and I can see the embryo moving around. In my tiny pink EE eggs I see nothing except for the air sac forming at the end? does that mean anything is happening?
I can't see anything in my brown and green eggs. not with this flashlight

How far out are you? Green eggs are so hard to see through once they start to develop. Pink? I wish I could get an Ameraucana that would lay pink. Pretty. I would wait a couple of day more to candle since you just have a flash light.
Good luck..what kind are your pink from..you said tiny? Are they bantam?

It's not an ameraucana, just a plain old Easter egger, lol. she is white and rumpless. but I'm affraid all of her eggs are duds (like all the time not just now) it would be neat to see what I could get out of her from a black wheaton-ish father
I am 11 days in and i'm pretty sure I have 2 double yolkers out of 3 brown eggs (shoot) I'm calling those mystery eggs because they are crossed with an EE. all my white eggs are excellent as usual.
this is my first hatch from an incubator and I've had one broody hen hatch out 7 out of 15 chicks, once before I got this incubator
my last one from a white egg came out rumpless and white with the odd black feathers.
I can't see my green eggs but my hatch from that broody hen was 50/50

Too bad about your EE's not being fertile. At least you know you have a chance with the greed ones.
Broody sounds so fun..haven't ever had one go all the way with eggs that way. A mama would be fun to watch with her babies.
