I feel for ya. A few days ago I was feeling the same way. It seems like it takes FOREVER for them to hatch. I hope something happens soon for you!

My temp and humidity all over the place all the time. That is one of the reason I have to keep such a close eye one it. Last night temp dropped to 93 so had to put in a bigger bulb, this morning it was 103 so had to put the smaller one back in. Still I can see one egg moving some just mo pips, peeps, or zips, but tomorrow is day 21 too.

Okay.....the third attempt at my first post.

My first hatch. Two blue Wyandottes hatched yesterday. Just got the second blue silkie out. They were due Sunday but I think the humidity was too low. Going to switch from a digital to the old fashioned hydrometer.

Nice link! How fun.

And now the stars out there are starting to notice that chickens are fun. I hadn't seen those pictures. I had heard of diapers for chickens, and when I mentioned them to my husband, I heard a very nervous chuckle. Uneasy to say the least. I laughed, and said, don't worry, just because I am getting into bantams doesn't mean I will bring them in. Another nervous chuckle.

Well, I have, four babies now. Woke up to two more. I had to help crack another eggs shell sideways for the chick..another one that pipped at the wrong end. At least now I can see it and watch it. I just cracked the shell, didn't tear the membrane, it had already done a bit of that. Hoping it will be strong enough to do the rest.

I have several more pips, and only two that haven't pipped. Today is day 21.

Yes the husband does get a little uncomfortable whenever the subject of chicken diapers comes up. Last year my 9 year old tried to make one for a favorite hen.

Right now we have a chick inside which is fun for everyone, but I think that's where we'll draw the line...

Anyhow, have a fun day!

8 babies! And the one I have just hangin around until I don't see blood when I work with the shell..the one that pipped at the wrong end. Lost one that did that yesterday..so I decided to help this one.

Do you have the blue lace reds for Wyandottes? I had one..picture to the left..and she is the one that got me into this incubating..she went broody..I bought eggs..and so it goes..and goes, I love the little ones. Plus, I get to pick and choose what I want then sell the others. It's fun. My kids tell me that I'm still doing the motherly thing since all the kids are out but one, and he will turn 18 this year.
Maybe..still being the mother hen..almost literally!
