Need some help hooking up my digital humidistat

Ok so I hooked it up like you are saying. I plugged it in and the H is lit up like it always is. It says 30 on the display. I press the S on display to change the set value to 33. Everything stays the same. I then set the value to 28 and everything stays the same. The outlet doesn’t light up either way

Does that look to be the correct way you were talking about?

From what I can see from the picture if the big black and white power cables are electrified then you should have power directly to your outlet without going through the humidity controller.
Hook it back up how it says to on the controller. Maybe try and switch your outlet plug for powering the humidity? Just a thought.
