Hi my name is Julie
I’m very new to this but it seems the best way to get help and advice.
I have 2 female bantams, they where a birthday gift, I have a 170 ft garden and they are free to roam, they
r massively loved although a massive surprise and myself and husband have had them from 12wks old.
They r now roughly a yr and a bit.
Problem I’m recently having is the more dominant/in charge of the pair is very broody. She would urge the other hen out and peck her to keep her in line.
My dominant hen has not come out of the coup for 4 days (to our knowledge)
Today we got her out, she didn’t peck just made funny noises, but when she went to eat the other hen jumped on her and tried to stamp her new authority in a almost vicious way. Eventually the hen went back to the coup almost sadly downcast . She is sitting on her eggs for as long as she can But both hens where very happy? If I bought 2 baby bantams would that help?
I’m definitely not getting a male !! But would definitely get 2 little ones if it would help her ?
Any advice is very very welcome please x
