Need some help with POISON IVY!

This is absolutely correct. And a hairdryer on low works well too. Be careful not to scald or burn the skin. Also, many doctors 'prescribe' Domeboro soak, but you can just purchase this over the counter. It's a drying agent that you mix with water, wet down a towel and place it over the area a couple times a day. (Personally, I use the hot water/hair dryer method a couple times a day works great! and I've had poison ivy so bad the urgent care center turned me away at the door and told me to go to the hospital!)

Good luck.

they sell it at walmart it is called ivy dry the best stuff in the world just takes it a day or two and it will be dried up.

Also, if you are into natural cures there is this plant called jewel weed and my DH goes out and gets me some and the juice of the plant will work great on drying it up and the itching. It works pretty good but the steroid shot the Dr. can give you will work in one day.

My son Had an EXTREME case last summer. On his face.
TEA TREE OIL worked wonders. Epsom salt baths too.

I believe my mother told me that she had read if you take a banana peel and rub the inside of the peel against the rash that it does a great job - worth a try!

Whatever you do, dont touch anyone until you've washed the oil off! i hate poison ivy! I'd listen to what everyone else says.
good luck

I have heard the same thing; we have a bridge festival in a little town not far from where I live, and every year a lady brings her home made lye soap and people buy it like crazy for using on their poison ivy. I read once, that archiologists (sorry if I buchered the spelling) would find old clothing that were at least 100 years old, and get poison ivy from it because it never dies. Another great fact to tuck into your brain file!
