Need some taxidermy help. if there are any taxidermists out there.

I've never had the luxury of mounting a snake, so I couldn't offer any advice other than I doubt you could get it really supple. It'd probably be more like a fish, wouldn't it? You'd have to ask Charlie.

My grandpa whiped out the .22 pistol, shot them between the eyes every time.

I've shot them with a 410 before...

I've missed a turkey with a 410. It was an over/under barrel, can't remember a technical name at the moment. Was switched to the wrong one. ##$@#$@#$ That turkey was really strutting his stuff too.

Yup, sure you can do a snake skin, soft and tanned.. turning into a belt or like you said you could wrap it around the belt and fasten it somehow, however never tried to glue leather before..,

I would case skin the snake and slide it over the belt once tanned and then tack stitch it at intervals while keeping it taunt between the stitching till reaching the final end. Depending on the type of snake, you may have to descale it.

One way that works very well for getting and keeping snake skin soft is to :

1. Get the skin while it's still green(fresh).
2.Soak it in a bucket of saltwater for about 2-3 days.
3. Take it out of the bucket of water and rise it off.
4. Put it into some water mixed with glucose(stuff that makes bubble solution bubbley) for about 5 days.
5.After 5 days take it out and put it between two pine board(makes sure their long enough) for about a week.
6. Take it out and let it dry the rest of the way. Then put baby powder on the flesh side not the scale side.
Should turn out nice, soft and flexible. I've done about 20 snakes this way from snakes hit by cars to pets when they died. Hope this help if any of you are snake hunters or just looking for a belt or hat rim.
