Need Suggestions Please - Unscented Deodorant

No, my friend, "alum" and "aluminum" are two completely different things.

Alum ( /ˈæləm/) is both a specific chemical compound and a class of chemical compounds. The specific compound is the hydrated potassium aluminium sulfate (potassium alum) with the formula KAl(SO4)2.12H2O. The wider class of compounds known as alums have the related empirical formula, AB(SO4)2.12H2O.

Alum is Aluminum.

Alum is aluminum. See the above post. Aluminum causes cancer and is found in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. The first 4 letters of ALUMinum is ALUM. Please don't be fooled. Alum is aluminum the same as fructose, sucrose, malodextrose is sugar.

the crystals are made with alum.....which is aluminum.....back to the cancer thing again, rubbing the stuff next to your lymph nodes.

7. Do your products contain aluminium?

Crystal deodorants are made from a mineral salt generally termed alum, which does contain a naturally occuring aluminium salt. Alum is not the same as aluminium, and our products do not contain compounds such as aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium zirconium compounds found in most anti-perspirants. These amazing mineral salts work effectively to prevent body odour by forming an invisible topical surface film which kills and prevents odour causing bacteria.

Understanding the Difference Between Alum and Aluminum

Technically speaking, aluminum is a metal, whereas alum is a compound. While many aluminum molecules can be absorbed into the skin, alum molecules are too large to be absorbed.

Crystal deodorants are made of natural mineral salts (alum).

I am still not convinced. Alum is aluminum and I ain't rubbing it on me! LOL!

I don't eat my deodorant, so I think I am safe.

If touching aluminum causes cancer, then I am screwed. There is no way I am getting rid of my bikes. I fondle them often.

There are different kinds and variations Alum, is a Mineral, not a compound like the Metal aluminium, The molecules of Alum are too big to be absorbed by the skin anyway, so it is safe

To each their own i spose, i think its better than Anti-persperant which actually blocks the pores :S

Alum is a mineral not the poisonous kind LOL! You use alum for leavening products and homemade playdough so it is not necessarily a bad thing! Not sure if we use alum for sugar cookies?

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

End of the week - DAY 7 and I have not smelled any fragrance from the new Almay fragrance free deodorant that I bought. I am soooooo happy.
