Hi, dose anyone have useful tips to help with housing ducks and just keeping them. And dose anybody know how to train a duck so it come when you call its name? Thanks ahead of time

I'm not sure about other ducks, but Muscovy are easily trained. Mine don't come when called by name (other than Prissy but she's a special case, and only does so when she feels like it anyways). However, my ducks come running when I clap my hands. The trick is just to clap, then follow it with a treat. They learn. It makes it far easier to get them to go where I want them in any case.

I clap too. If mine see me pick up the food buckets they run to me. To put them to bed I clap and call ' bedtime ' and they all head to the shed. It takes time. New birds always hardest, once you have a few that get the game the rest follow on.

My ducks come when I call them generally. I yell, “Hey ducky ducky ducky!” and they come because they know I usually have a treat. You just need to be consistent and give lots of treats.

Depends on their demeanor and what they're doing.

If they don't really are not ready to go into or out of a pen I squat down nearby and call "duck duck duck duck". Once one starts following they all waddle along.

If they're looking at me like they need to know what to do next, I just say "girls" and lead them out in the directions I want to go.

If they are not ready to stop feasting on bugs and worms, I say "time to go!" and gently herd them where I want them to go.
