I am new to chicken owning and bought a $$$$ beautiful combo coop from lancaster chicken coops. However, I mis-read everything and now need to add about 70 square feet of chicken run. fortunately chicks are only 6 weeks old so i have at least a few weeks to solve. Ideas? I have never constructed anything beyond ikea furniture, so building it myself probably out of the question. Any other ideas that won't kill me financially? I've seen some chicken pens for sale online but have no idea how good/bad they are. any advice greatly appreciated.

Get a 10x10 dog run, they're not overly expensive and it should be big enough for your current flock. You will need to reinforce it, especially towards the bottom, with 1/2" opening hardware cloth or welded wire as the chain link spacing is too large to protect from predators. Top can be left open or closed depending on your predator population.

Welcome to BYC...sorry you're freaking out....it'll be OK, we can help you figure a solution.

Dog kennel is an excellent idea.
Can you tell us what model coop you have?
Pics of coop and surrounding area would help.
Also your location, knowing climate can make a big difference.

x4 the dog run. I am looking into that too.
Look at Craigs List (if it is good in your area) for a used one. But watch the prices. Ask where they bought it from and look up new prices first before going out. I have found some here that want $200 for a veru used run but they bought it for $200 !

I bought a 4x8 combo coop from lancaster chicken coop company.
