I wish I'd had the styptic pencil, since her comb bled for six hours. I finally dumped some more cornstarch on it, and that did the trick.
She was also bleeding from the torn comb itself. I hadn't noticed until after, but her sisters had torn the comb loose towards the front. I think all the cleaning and putting the antibiotic ointment on it, disturbed it and made it bleed again.
I certainly hope I don't ever have to go through this again. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would do it for "cosmetic" or show purposes. To prevent frostbite, maybe, but even then, it's a horrible ordeal for human and bird.
