they dont look fertile to me. i eaither have 1 rooster to 2-3 hens (4 max) and i keep an eye out for any hens who seem to look like a fav. at that age he should be doing his job but its just not with every hen.
Your problem is that your flock appears to be living upside down (just kidding)....
After 10 days of incubation a fertile egg would certainly have progressed much further than what you are seeing when you open your egg. Thus, these were infertile eggs.
Can't tell from your picture but are your chickens truly "fluffy butts". Sometimes a bit of trimming needs to be done to make sure all the...ahem..important parts connect during mating.
LOL,I don't know why that picture loaded upside down, but I thought it was petty funny.
I was hoping to let mother nature take its course. So i need to trim the girls butt feathers? I don't know if I can catch them. Lol. Do I trim them really short?
This is all new to me so I really don't know what I am doing. I just want to get my eggs fertile.......
you do not need to cut their feathers he's doing his job (at least with one of them the one missing feathers at the bass of her tail is from him mounting her if anyones fertile its her for sure she needs a saddle). if its sunny outside take all the eggs you collect tomorrow and crack them onto a plate take them out into the sun for a could clear bright pic (i know might be a waste of a few eggs but you can at least see if anyone is fertil) and post it here and we will tell you
That sounds like a great idea. I will do it on Sunday, I will be gone all day tomorrow. Get on here Sunday after I post pictures and let me know what they look like. Thank you.
