M y flys and there are literally thousands arent in the coops either
On the food
Iit has rained a lot this spring and summer and each time they get worse there are some areas that are breeding grounds ..where the tractor coops sat all winter Id like to put something on the ground to kill them but the chicks free range.
Did get ideas here however
Also tried this crazy idea fpor the house no reason it should work AT ALL but it seems to!
At my doorway someone told me to hang ziplock bags of water over windows and door openings Said someone they went to did it in a barn at a wedding reception and no flys in AK.
Shed never heard of it either.
I was really skeptical but have done 2 over my front door and weird but the flys seem to stay about 3 ft away!!
Once in a days time I might see one or 2 land but most of the time i go in and out I see none
Porch rails.... there are 10 on each always
Might try some dish soap on the breeding areas .hope the chicks don't die of it but I cant take this
Thanks ill try this Sounds goodThe fly predators really do work in stables and such. The problem is the cocoons that the fly wasps come in are to be spread around manure and wet spots. The wasps then get into fly eggs and eat them and then The chickens eat them. I have used them for years and they worked great. Now I have lots of chickens and the fly predators are eaten by them. I guess if the chickens weren't free range you could put them outside the pens. You would have to pick up in your coops very often.
Cant hurt to try this too.I heard that the Vanilla air fresheners that you would hang in your car work well. Also DE works great for me. Good luck.
