my chicken has been living in a barn for the past month and a half...before that he was living in my basement...now it seems he has a breathing problem. he is weazzing a lot. when u hold him, u can hear something in his throat. I've been reading the forms and see that tylan 50 is used to treat this. but where can i buy tylan 50? I live in Green Bay, WI. Can i buy this at feat farm, or any pet shop?

You can buy Tylan at TSC, or most any farm supply store. If you can't get the 50, you can use the 200. You can see the dosing on my site HERE . Good luck!

I have 20 meat birds with rattling breathing and sneezing, 1 little Seabrite Bantom Roo (my little buddy) that's is snezzing and watery nose and I am sure I saw bubbles in his eye this morning.... At least one if not 2 of my hens are snezzing.... I almost ordered tylan but then read the warning. There are absolutely no poultry vets anywher near me , I know because I soent 4 hours on the phone trying to fine one. I did have it suggested to me to put oil of oregano in their water.

If ANYONE has a better suggestion please help. :(

Baytril seems to work well

Baytril says the same thing really ....

Current advice form the Veterinary Medicines Directorate UK is that Baytril usage in poultry is -

Do not use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.
Do not administer to layer replacement birds within 14 days of coming into lay.

Withdrawl periods

Chickens: Meat and offal: 3 days.

Baytril is what I would use, but only if they had more symptoms than sneezing and a runny nose. For me to use it, or any other drug, I would have to see weight loss, depression, fluffed feather, etc. Baytril is banned for use in poultry, but I still use it and eat the eggs. :D
