need to know where to buy tylan 50

Get yourself a digital kitchen scale and get baseline weights on all. Mature birds should not lose any weight and growing birds should make daily gains. Any losses or lack of gain and you should treat. Probably best to get an antibiotic just in case. Regarding the vets in your area... Google for avian or exotic vets, I bet you'll find one that treats poultry.

He is treating meat birds, so Baytril might not be so good to use. Someone recently posted that they could buy oxytetracycline in Canada, but not coccidiosis medicine, which was only available from a vet. I'm not sure if that is true or not. You might try a feed store that sells cattle medicines for oxytetracycline or tylosin (Tylan.).

I don't think I would worry about using Baytril in meat or egg birds with a proper withdrawal period... Heck, it was used for years before the ban and it's still used cattle and swine. :D

Since they are for meat, probably best to stay away from injectables if you decide to treat. Both injectable Tylosin and oxytetracyline can cause *severe* injection site necrosis. The one time I used 1ml of Tylan 50, that hen developed a large necrotic spot in her breast muscle.

I meant the baytril for birds, not the one for cattle. It can be mixed in their water or given orally with a syringe, not sure if it makes a difference.

Injectable Baytril for cattle and swine or swine can be given orally. It is not recommended to give in water due to it's bitterness. Liquid Baytril comes as 2.27%, 5% and 10%. The 10% is the easiest one for poultry people to buy without a prescription.
