HELP: NEED TO REHOME SMILEY KAZOO.

Smiley is a 9-year-old Fawn & White Indian Runner drake. We’ve raised him since he was a day old, along with his three “siblings,” who have now all passed. One was killed by a raccoon a year ago, and two were mauled by a fox yesterday, 7/18/2019.

Smiley has a lot of personality and is popular with our neighbors, young and old. He was the sentry of the flock and stood guard while the others foraged, napped, explored, or ate. He managed to escape the fox yesterday, but did suffer a claw clutch to the neck, for which he has received an antibiotic shot.

He is very affectionate and really likes the girl ducks. Favorite foods are leftover rice and chicken noodle soup (no one he knows!), chopped greens in water, and watermelon. He’s up for any fresh vegetable table scraps, provided they’re chopped up a bit. Occasionally, we give him special treats of superworms and feeder fish.

Domesticated ducks are very social animals, and we know that Smiley would rather be with other ducks than by his lonesome in our yard. He’s a very sweet and affectionate duck; we don’t think he’s ever had a negative thought pass through his fluffy little head. We’re so sad to give him up, but know that he needs to find a new flock with other duck-friends.
