need to replace murdered Red Golden Chicks - Seattle

Arghh. A racoon just pulled my 3 red golden chicken thru the wire. It was very gross and sad.

Anyone near the Seattle area have any red golden chicks still? They were about 2&1/2 month old. I had a cock and two hens.

I have racoon proofed my cage and now need some new chicks. Ok thanks!

I hate raccoons, I really do. Sometimes a young pheasant wanders close to the pen wall and this is what happens. I have tried burying 2x4 " wire and covering that with chicken wire. Then I pull the 2x4 fence away from the chicken wire which keeps pheasant away from it. No system is perfect. I also put a big brush pile in the middle of the pen which attracts them away from the walls. They like it in there. Next, I am putting in electric fence.
