Walmart carries a great thermometer/hygrometer for under $10. Look for the Acurite brand--reliable and accurate (as much as you can expect from an inexpensive unit), and the price is right.

I'll check out the Walmart tomorrow. Petsmart is 1 1/2 hours away. The unit doesn't seem to be coming up to heat very well and I really want to get started. I'm very close to buying something....anything....now! I'm sorting through the other posts to help make an informed ( not rash )purchase. Somethings gotta give......If I can convince my wife of an early fathers day gift, I could have peeps by fathers day. Very appropriate!!!

A friend ( another enabler.... they're coming out of the woodwork!!!) found out the incubator was not heating up. She borrowed her brother-in-laws Hova-Bator and delivered it this morning. I found a hydrometer at a local pet store. Plugged all in and am waiting for everything to stabilize. 2 dozen eggs standing by.....I can't wait!!!
